Andrew and his friends had a photo shoot. Here is a picture.
Today we celebrated Andrew’s graduation party. Jill, her girls, and Mar-Mar and Be-Bob came from Cincinnati and Mary and Casey came from Kansas City. The party was at Main Frame studios, an artist co-op near downtown. Andrew’s friend Oscar’s family had reserved the space and invited us to join.
Today was Andrew’s soccer banquet. It was a simple affair, with pizza, fruit, and dessert in the parking lot after their final practice.
Tonight was Andrew’s final orchestra concert. His orchestra concerts have really been a joy during his four years of high school.
Rose’s class had a music concert. The first grade sang four songs, which took about 20 minutes. It was great.
This evening Mari had her second showing of Gossamer. It is a one-act play that she is participating in as part of the Iowa High School Speech Association’s annual competition. Districts were a couple of weeks ago in Oceola and her group qualified for State, which was hosted today at Valley. They will find out on Monday if they make it through to the All-State competition. There are no photos during the show, so we must settle for before and after.
PS – Mari’s show was on Friday night and most of the acts and shows were on Saturday. We spent most of the day there enjoying the various acts: short plays, improv, radio production, tv production, musicals, readers theater, choral reading.
Mari made this cool art piece this year in her 3-d foundations course.
Andrew had his second orchestra concert of the year. The final song they played was Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24 by Trans-Siberian Orchestra. It was enjoyed by all.
