Today we rented a couple of pontoon boats and set out to explore the majestic waters of grand Lake.
Colorado Vacation, Day 7: The Big Hike
Today Susan and Erin took the kids into Grand Lake to hang out in town and play in the lake while Mary, Nate, Colin, and I went on a big hike. We did the same hike that Will led us on last year. It is a pretty awesome hike with some great views. Last year I was excited to be sledding in June; this year I was sledding in July.

Lucia is 9 Months
Lucia is 9 months old today. She likes to wave at everyone and clap. She sits up and spins around in a circle, looking for things to get into. She still likes to blow raspberries. The sounds she makes are ‘Ma-Ma’, ‘Da-Da’, and ‘Ba-Ba-Ba’. She is very friendly with everyone and is a joy to be around.

Lucia and Louie
Lucia loves animals. Our neighbors have a cat, Louie, and Lucia loves when he comes around. Sometimes he sneaks into our house when one of the kids is going in or out.
4th of July
Yesterday for the 4th of July we spent a relaxing day at the Reagens’ house. We started off the day with a kids parade at 10, followed by a neighborhood party at a nearby park. There was food, drinks, and games for the kids.
We spent the rest of the day hanging out at the house – playing outside and eating a lot of food. We finished up the day with a fireworks show in the street.

The Great Mosquito Attack of 2013
Yesterday evening the older kids and I decided to get out for a bike ride. We had a great ride. The kids were riding fast and we made it from Greenwood to one of the pedestrian bridges downtown. We had a break and then headed home. I had allotted extra time for our ride home so we did not need to be in a hurry.
We were about 1/2 mile from the end, in the thick of the woods, when Mari threw her chain. Normally this would not be a big deal, but as soon as we stopped we were swarmed by mosquitoes. I was struggling to get her chain back on because her chain guard was in the way. The kids were running around, biking around, and swatting their hearts out trying to stay away from the mosquitoes. After trying for a few minutes we decided to just run the bikes back, so Mari and I ran the rest of the way, swatting as best we could.
