First Snow

This weekend we had out first snow of the year. It is almost gone, but it was a lot of fun when it was here! It started snowing on Friday and we ended up getting 4-9 inches, depending on where you stepped.

Atl Atl

This weekend we went to a Polk County Conservation program at Yellow Banks Park about the Native American groups who used to live there. We got to see and learn about all of the artifacts that have been found in the park, take down a teepee, hike to a burial mound, and practice some atl atl throwing.

Playing at the Creek

With the nice weather we have been spending some nice afternoons outside. The kids have been enjoying the last few days of being able to play in the creek.

Dirty Duathlon

This afternoon the kids and I, along with Nate, participated in the Dirty Duathlon. The kids race was a few laps around a field at Greenwood Park. Nate and I ran 2 miles, biked 10, and then ran 2 more, on single-track trails.

Weekend Hikes

This weekend we got out for two hikes, to enjoy the nice weather. On Friday evening we went for our monthly hike with the Prairie Grass Guild. On Sunday we went with the Reagens to Brown’s Woods.

Hike It Baby

Yesterday we out for our first Hike it Baby hike. We like to hike a lot and this group is right up our alley! It was fun and a good way to get out with other families.
