The three older kids are all running Cross Country this year. Today we got out for a family run, with all seven Lieslands.

Playing in the Creek
We don’t back up to the creek anymore, but we live close enough that we walk down to the creek a lot. It has been running high most of the year. It was a nice day today and the creek is finally running normal, so we took Lucia and Rose down to play.
Berry Picking
Susan and the kids went berry picking this afternoon with Erin and the Reagen kids.
Iowa Games Triathlon
Raccoon River Beach
This summer we have made it to the beach at Raccoon River park a couple of times. The Reagens joined us today for some fun on our giant rafts.
Market to Market Relay
Susan and I participated in the Market to Market relay today, waking at 3:15 am to meet our team downtown and head to Jefferson, IA, to start our 76 miles race. There were 8 of us who joined forces to cover the distance.
World’s Tallest Snowman

The Liesland and Reagen kids made this couch out of snow. Susan and Mary Connor sat on it.
Red Flannel Run
Susan and the kids braved the cold temperatures this morning to come cheer me on in the Red Flannel Run. Susan and I ran this race together 17 years ago when we were dating. It was fun to do it again.
First Snow
OK, maybe it’s not our first snow, but it is the first big snow that we have experienced in a while. We all enjoyed getting out and playing.
Greenwood Hike
It was predicted to be a nice day today and the weather did not disappoint. We met up with the Reagens at Greenwood Park for a hike through the woods, playing with the ice on the pond, and then playing at the playground. Everyone loved spending some time outside and enjoying the warm sunshine.
Outdoor Productivity
Somewhat unplanned, we ended up having a very productive day today, getting our outdoor toys procured and set up.
