San Xavier del Bac Mission

This morning we visited the San Xavier del Bac Mission, just north of Green Valley. It is a Spanish Mission that has been in place for hundreds of years. Originally founded by the Jesuits, hence the name, it was transitioned to the Franciscans very early on. There is still a functioning parish at the site and we were lucky to get a peak inside the church right before Mass.

The Turquoise Trail

Similar to the historic walk in Boston, Tucson has a turquoise trail that you can follow through their downtown, passing by about 25 historic sites. We followed the trail this afternoon after work.

Life at Mimi & Papa’s

It has been a quiet few days in Green Valley. After the little girls were sick on Sunday we spent Monday taking it easy. Andrew woke up on Tuesday morning not feeling well. He had the same thing and was basically sick for a day. He is feeling better today and is ready to get back out on the town. We hope to do something in Tucson after work today.

Super Bowl Happenings

This year we watched the Super Bowl at Gary & Kathie’s house in Green Valley. We had a good plan, but things did not work out so well because Lucia and Rose both got sick right as the game was about to begin and it lasted about the length of the entire game, with a little extra left for after.

Susan and I spent nearly the whole evening hanging out with the girls in our bedroom and the big kids enjoyed the game with Mimi and Papa. Hopefully some sleep will do the girls good and they will feel a little better tomorrow.

Phoenix -> Tucson

After a late night last night we all slept in this morning before getting up for moving day. Susan’s parents are spending the month of February south of Tucson, in Green Valley, AZ. We parked our RV in a storage lot near there and will be staying with them for a week.

It was just a short, 3 hour drive to Green Valley. Now we are all settled in at the house and ready for a relaxing week.

Picking Up Susan

After spending some time downtown we picked Susan up at the airport late last night. Her flight was supposed to arrive around 10:15, but due to some runway issues at the airport it didn’t land until 10:40. It was midnight by the time we made it back to the RV.
