Yemassee, SC to Newport, NC

Today we drove from Yemassee to Newport, NC. We are staying at a campground that is just across the intercostal waterway from a few islands. It is one last slow week before the DC, NYC, Boston experience.

It is cold here.
Shortly after our selfie, Lucias flip-flip fell in the water. She was not happy about it.
We ran to an adjacent dock, where Andrew snagged it with a branch.
Hard to see, but I had to dangle Elliot over the edge to grab it.

Lucia and Rose love playgrounds and the big kids usually find ways to entertain themselves as well.

Rainy Day in Yemassee

It was a cool, rainy day today, so we spent most of the day hanging out in the RV. We did manage to get out for an afternoon outing the the Le Creuset factory store, not far from where we are staying.

Easter in Yemassee

We started the day off with our traditional Easter basket hunt. Our kids leave their Easter baskets out on the table the night before Easter and the Easter bunny hides them.
Even in the RV, it still took Andrew over 30 minutes to find his basket.
After finding Easter baskets, we head outside to find the eggs that the Easter bunny has also hidden.
This year we went for a walk around the lakes near our campground. It was a cool 65 degrees for our walk, but when I looked at the weather in Des Moines it was 24.
All ready for church!
We went to Saint James the Greater, a small Catholic church about 15 minutes from our campground. It was great.
After church they had a small Easter celebration with hot dogs and treats.

Life in Miami

We have really enjoyed our time in Miami. The weather has been great and there is plenty to do – around town and at the rv park. Today we enjoyed some of our favorite activities around the rv park.

Andrew enjoys some Pollo Tropical.

Our daily game of shuffleboard. Elliot and I just couldn’t seem to catch Andrew and Mari.
Lucia always finds friends.

Our neighbors had a jam session.

RV Park Minigolf

This evening we had the chance to play minigolf at the RV park. A few of our parks along the way have had courses, and they are not usually well maintained. The minigolf course here is amazing – with some cool features we have never seen before.

Hitchin’ Post RV Campground

We stayed overnight tonight in northwest Florida, on our way to our next campground. Normally our overnight stops are not too noteworthy, but this campground was pretty cool. There were a couple of lakes, plenty of lawn games, and they provide complementary firewood.

Ian’s Visit, Day 1: Hanging Out

Today we hung out at the campground all day. Bocce ball in the morning, swimming in the afternoon, a walk to the lake, then a campfire cookout.
